Manchester City have completed the signing of Super Eagles forward Kayode Olarenwanju from FK Austria Wien, Naijafootballplus.com can report.
The 24-year-old was set for a move to newly promoted Premier League side, Newcastle before Manchester City snapped him up on Friday night.
Olarenwanju’s wife informed Naijafootballplus.com sources that her husband has dumped offers from Newcastle and Watford, and has instead agreed terms with the Manchester side.
The former Flying Eagles striker has completed his medicals and he will be sent on loan to Spanish league side Girona for one season.
“He (Olarenwanju) arrived England on Thursday for discussions with Newcastle and Watford. In between the process he got a call from Pep Guardiola and he was convinced with Manchester City’s offer. He has passed his medicals and he will play on loan in Spain due to work permit issues,” the source said.
