Super Eagles striker Kayode Olanrewaju scored again for Austria Wien even though they lost 2-3 to League Champions Salzburg.
The goal was the former U20 international’s 17th league goal with 8 assists and his 24th goal in all competitions.
The goal also ensured Kayode emerged top marksman in the Austrian Bundesliga as well as the top hitman for his club.
Kayode said he was happy to emerge top scorer and qualify Austria Wien for the Europa League.
“Yess I am pleased with finishing as the highest goal scorer because last season I lost out, but it means my hard work is paying off”, Kayode said while speaking with Brila sports.
Kayode who is expected to miss super Eagles match against Corsica today due to club engagement will however arrive the Eagles camp on Saturday just after finalising with his family and agents on his next move.
“Am aware about 8 agents came to watch me against Salzburg, I can officially say I have played my last game for Austria Wien, it is a good thing because i will be stepping up my career”.
Kayode believes the Super Eagles have good enough players to secure victory against Corsica.
“The national team has enough gifted players and the coach is very good in taking the right decision for the interest of the team. My heart is just with the Super Eagles, I can’t wait to join the team and play my part for Nigeria”.
Kayode finally thanked everyone involved with his time at Austrian Wien, for their relentless support and encouragement.
“Finally it ended in praise, thank you to Austria Wien management, thanks to my coaches, thanks to my teammates, thanks to the club’s super fans.
Am grateful for all of them making my time here enjoyable”.
