Leicester defender describes Iheanacho as a ‘Beast’ after Nigerian nets first Premier League goal in two years


Kelechi Iheanacho scored his first Premier league goal in the colours of Leicester City against West Brom on Saturday and his effort has been praised by team-mates Christian Fuchs and Wilfred Ndidi.

Iheanacho who replaced Shinji Okazaki in the second half first provided an assist to put the foxes ahead in the encounter before going on to head home his first goal since 2016 in the Premier League, helping Leicester City win 4-1 at West Brom.

Austrian defender Christian Fuchs was happy for Iheanacho’s all round contribution as he applauded his Nigerian team-mate: “Happy for my man Kelechi for his performance and a great goal. You’re a beast in the air. Great result today for us,” Fuchs tweeted.

In the same vein, Super Eagles team-mate of Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi was also full of praise for his Nigerian colleague: “Back to winning ways and congrats to my guy on his goal and assist. Thanks to the fans for their great support,” Ndidi Twitted.

Ndidi was very impressive, with the stats showing how much he bossed the midfield in the 90 minutes that saw Leicester climb up to 8th on the table.

The midfielder made 76 touches, had 3 Interceptions, won 62.5% of of duels in general while also dominating Aerial duels with 71.4% success rate.

Both Iheanacho and Ndidi have been invited for the Super Eagles friendly games against Poland and Serbia.
