The League Management Company (LMC) has confirmed to Naijafootballplus.com that the remaining Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) fixtures will be rearranged after proper consideration.
With the Super Eagles B team preparing for the 2018 CHAN qualifiers against Benin Republic for the next two weekends and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) expected to release the draws for this year’s AITEO Cup and also putting into consideration the World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon to come in September, a top official of the LMC on Wednesday divulged to Naijafootballplus.com that the NPFL fixtures will be rearranged.
“This weekend league games will hold while next midweek games will be rearranged, we have to move all our midweek games to weekend due to the AITEO Cup and the CHAN qualifiers.
“The clubs might miss their players for three league matches if next midweek games hold. NFF also want to use midweek for the AITEO Cup matches.
“The league season will not end on September 3rd, we have to considered the World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon which fall into the same week. We shall release a new calendar this week,” the official revealed.
