Madjer names Mahrez, Bentaleb, 21 others for Eagles game

With just 11 days to the last game of the 2018 World cup qualifier between Algeria and the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Algeria coach, Rabah Madjer has invited Leicester City star, Riyad Mahrez, Schalke midfielder,
Nabil Bentaleb and 21 other players to prosecute the match scheduled to hold on the 10th November, 2017.

The dead rubber game, which will have no influence on who represents the group in Russia 2018 as the Eagles have already picked the ticket, will serve as the first test for the coach who only took charge of the team early this month.

Madjer believes the game is essential and important for his side, and that a win for his team will help their rebuilding process and restore the confidence to his side in qualifying for the 2019 AFCON.

In the squad also is Mahrez’s Leicester teammate, Islam Slimani and FC Porto’s attacking midfielder Yacine Brahimi.

According to Algerian daily Lebuteur, the three goalkeepers invited for the tie are Faouzi Chaouchi (MC Algiers, Algeria), Chamseddine Rahmani (CS Constantine, Algeria) and Abdelkadir Salhi (CR Belouizdad, Algeria).

In the defence, Madjer invited, Mohamed Khouthir Ziti (ES Setif, Algeria), Youcef Attal (KV Kortrijk, Belgium), Faouzi Ghoulam (SSC Napoli, Italy), Houari Ferhani (JS Kabylie, Algeria), Aissa Mandi (Betis Sevilla, Spain),
Liassine Cadamuro (Nîmes Olympique, France), Rami Bensebaini (Stade Rennais, France), Ayoub Abdellaoui (USM Alger, Algeria), and Carl Medjani (Sivasspor, Turkey).

In midfield, Bentaleb will play alongside Abderraouf Benguit (USM Alger, Algeria), Ismael Bannecar (Empoli FC, Italy), Yacine Brahimi (Porto FC, Portugal), and Abdelmoumen Djabou (ES Setif, Algeria).

And in attack are Mahrez, Zinedine Ferhat (Le Havre AC, France), Islam Slimani (Leicester City FC, England), Baghdad Bounedjah (Al Sadd Sport, Qatar), Hilal El Arabi Soudani (GNK Dinamo Zagreb , Croatia), Sofiane Hanni (RSC Anderlecht, Belgium).

The Fennecs will host the Eagles at Constantine on Friday, 10th of November, 2017.

  1. Bring on the match. Play the match anywhere in Algeria, Algeria will still get beaten by the Super Eagles on their on soil.
