A twist in fortune for Nigeria Professional Football League campaigners, Akwa United of Uyo has paved way for their gaffer, Coach Abdul Maikaba to declare that his side will win the Nigeria Professional Football League.
The Coach of the Promise Keepers stated this shortly after his side’s resounding 3-0 victory against visiting ABS FC of Ilorin in a match day 21 NPFL fixture.
“We have set our target to claim the league title because the league is a marathon despite our the fact that we started on a poor note but I can say the Akwa United will go all out to ensure that we emerge victorious”. said a boastful Maikaba
Maikaba went further to buttress that his latest recruits during the mid-season transfer window will play pivotal roles in their quest for glory.
“The players that we signed are top notch players that can guarantee you success in the league. I believe these additions to the side will help us to achieve our target because we will be disappointed if we don’t win the league”. Maikaba declared emphatically
Meanwhile, the Promise Keepers have closed the gap between the sides in the top-three on the league table to just a point and will next take on Rivers United on Wednesday.
