Manchester United youngster Tosin Kehinde has voiced his interest to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The 19-year old midfielder met the Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr and Nigeria football federation officials on Sunday in London where he made known his intention to represent Nigeria.
The skilful player was born in Lagos before he moved to England in his early days and he’s eligible for both England and Nigeria.
No Nigerian players has ever played for Manchester United but Tosin Kehinde is on the verge of breaking the jinx following his performance for the reserve team.
“Of course I’d be elated to play at the World Cup. It’s every footballer’s dream. Playing at any level for Nigeria would bring me pride,” said Kehinde to the Manchester Evening News.
“I believe in myself enough to know I can bring something great to the Super Eagles first team,” he added.
If Tosin Kehinde goes on to wear the Nigerian colours at the Super Eagles level, he will join other youngsters who have in recent times opted to play for Nigeria.
