Contrary to reports in the media about the status of MFM FC and NPFL top scorer, Stephen Odey, the club has revealed that Odey is a bonafide player of the Olukoya Boys, Naijafootballplus.com has been informed.
MFM FC Football Director, Emmanuel Adeyemi has revealed that the former Principal Cup champion has a valid contract with the Lagos based club.
Odey, 19, is the top scorer in the ongoing NPFL season with 14 goals, the lad has controversially ditched his parent club for purported trials in Denmark.
“Odey is in Denmark, the world knows about it. We are expecting him back in the country this weekend. He is MFM bonafide player and the Danish club has been communicating with us even before he travelled.
“Some mistakes in the process of his traveling and we have sorted that inwards. Odey has a representative which is the professional standard for every player and he has a valid contract with MFM until 2018.
“We have set our price tag and a bench mark for his transfer fees, Odey is valued in the range of one million dollars ($1,000,000) that is the price we have been communicating with the interested clubs who have made enquiries about the boy,” revealed Adeyemi.
Speaking in same vein with the club Football Director, Odey’s representative Adewunmi Yusuf has revealed his client has a valid contract with MFM FC.
“He (Odey) is a bonafide player of MFM, he has a binding contract and if he seals any move abroad, MFM will cash in the transfer fees.
“I’m surprised about the news in the media about the boys status with MFM. He has a valid contract with MFM and the club has the final decision. He can’t move abroad without the consent of MFM,” Yusuf divulged.
