Super Eagles midfielder Mikel Agu was on target for Bursaspor on Tuesday afternoon, in a 2-1 win over Genclerbirligi FC in the second leg round of 16 clash of the Turkish FA cup.
Mikel Agu was on parade with his Nigerian and club teammate William Troost Ekong in defense, but it was Genclerbirligi who took the lead in the 19th minute through Peter Skuletic before Agu scored in the 33rd minute to open his goal account for 2018.
Yusuf Erdogan then put Bursaspor ahead in the 49th minute with what was the eventual match winner, but Agu and Troost Ekong failed to advance due to the away goals rule after losing 0-1 in the first leg.
Agu who is on loan at Bursaspor from Portuguese giants FC Porto, has scored 3
goals in all competitions for Bursaspor this season.
Both Agu and defender Ekong are regular members of the Coach Gernot Rohr’s
Super Eagles team.
