Former Super Eagles striker Fanendo Adi was on Tuesday named player of the week in the matchday 15 of the Major league soccer in the United States of America.
Adi, who is Portland Timbers’ all-time leading goal-scorer since 1975, got a brace in their game against FC Dallas.
He opened the scoring in the 15th minute before half-time when midfielder Sebastián Blanco drove at the FC Dallas defense, before playing a well weighted pass into Adi’s path, with the striker shrugging off his defender and tucking his effort into the bottom corner in the 32nd minute.
He completed his brace in the 72nd minute with a clever close range finish.
This award marks the fourth time the striker has won MLS Player of the Week honours in his MLS career.
