Nigerian international Victor Moses has spoken of his disappointment at losing the community shield to Arsenal 1-4 on penalties.
Moses was one of the few Chelsea players that impressed in an unconvincing display by the league champions, and thought his goal would have won it for Chelsea. He pounced on a loose ball in the second half to smartly put his team ahead.
But a red card to Chelsea’s Pedro and a goal from Arsenal dragged the tie to penalties. Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and Alvaro Morata missed for Chelsea to surrender the community shield to their London rivals.
Moses then took to twitter to pour out his frustration with the outcome of the match.
”Not the ending we were hoping for yesterday (Sunday) in the end, but we feel fit and ready for a big season ahead. Fans were amazing yesterday #CFC,” Moses wrote.
Victor Moses will miss Chelsea’s league opener against Burnley as he serves out a red card suspension he received from the FA cup loss to Arsenal last season.
