Victor Moses was the match winner for Chelsea in a 2-1 Victory at Burnley on Thursday night in the Premier League.

In arguably his best outing this season, the Super Eagles star player, produced a performance reminiscent of that which saw him feature prominently for the blues when they won the league title last season.

Chelsea captain and defender Cahill picked up the run of Moses who did well to control under intense pressure inside the Burnley box, before shooting a cross towards goal that in fortuitous circumstance turned into goal by a combination of goalkeeper Nick Pope whose finger tip clearance was directed back to goal by defender Kevin Long in the 20th minute.

Chelsea took the lead into the break, and on resumption of the second half, Burnley began to pile pressure in search of a come back.

Spanish record Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata shockingly missed a one on one situation with the Burnley keeper, a mistake the Blues paid for when Ashley Barnes deflected a short from Johan Guðmundsson into the Chelsea net to equalize in the 64th minute.

The lead only lasted 5 minutes as man of the match Victor Moses calmly controlled the ball inside the Burnley box, fired a low drive that beat the Burnley keeper at his near post to restore Chelsea’s lead.

Chelsea held on with no real threat from Burnley to win the match and move within five points of the top four and UEFA Champions League qualification position.

Moses has now scored 2 goals for Chelsea this season, both coming on away grounds, and will be hoping for similar fortune when they confront Southampton on Sunday at the Wembley Stadium for a spot in the FA Cup Final.
