Super Eagles star Victor Moses was in inspired form for reigning English Premier League Champions Chelsea in Monday night’s Premier League’s 3-0 routine win over West Brom at Stamford Bridge.
Moses scored in the 63rd minute in between Eden Hazard brace in the 21st and 71st minutes to help Chelsea bounce back from consecutive defeats to Bournemouth and Watford in their last two matches.
The ominous sack clouds seems to have gathered over the Blues Italian coach Antonio Conte before this match today with possible replacements already named, but man of the match Hazard and wing back Moses might have bought more time for their coach.
Moses was ever lively especially in the second half as he attacked and pushed up more, causing all sorts of problems for the baggies left back Gibbs.
It was one of such runs that led to the Nigerian scoring his second Premier league goal of the campaign after cutting on the inside of Gibbs and releasing the ball to Fabregas whose flick, initially meant for Morata take a deflection, returning the ball to Moses who with due credit continued his run to finish off with his left foot.
The game started on a shaky note for Chelsea who struggled to cope with West Brom’s high pressing game in the early exchanges before Belgian super star Eden Hazard finished off a move he started that was flicked on by Ground for Hazard to slam home in the 25th minute during a successive period of dominance.
The second half exposed the baggies who are fixed at the bottom of the table, but their push for an equalizer only exposed them to further goals from Moses and Hazard.
Chelsea moved ahead of Tottenham back into fourth with the win that took their points haul to 53 from 27 matches one point less than Liverpool in third, 3 less than Manchester United in 2nd and a whooping 19 points from top of the table Manchester City.
Chelsea has a date with Hull City in the FA Cup on Saturday before a crucial UEFA Champions League match at home to Barcelona next midweek.
Meanwhile their next Premier League game is against Manchester United at Old Trafford in a fortnight, they’ll have the opportunity to move equal on points with the Red Devils.
