Matches played on Sunday in the English Premier League were filled with goals and entertainment, and Nigerian players were mostly at the receiving end.

We start off at the Goodison park were Everton welcomed Leicester City who were on a 6-game winning run.

Super Eagles vice-captain Ahmed Musa came on for Leicester city in the 61st minute, but by then the damage had already been done and he was unable to make any difference.

At the Stadium of light, Victor Anechebe started for Sunderland who welcomed EPL struggling giants Manchester United as they lost 0-3 with the result heavily influenced by a controversial red card shown to a Sunderland player.

Anechebe almost equalized for Sunderland with scores at 1-0, but his shot was saved by Man Utd goalkeeper, Sergio Romero.

Anechebe was also denied a penalty when replays showed he was pulled down by a Man Utd defender.
