Former Akwa United forward Ibrahim Alhassan continued the building of his career in Europe as he joined Portuguese side CD Nacional, on a 4- year deal.
Alhassan, who spent last season on loan with Austrian side Rapid Wien, where he played couple of games for the club including Uefa Europa league matches.
The Portuguese side confirmed the deal via the club official website early on Thursday.
“ Ibrahim Alhassan will be a player of the National CD in the next four seasons,” the club announced on their official website on Thursday.
“Following the trip by the president of the National CD, Rui Alves, to Nigeria, talks were held with the president of FC Hearts, which eventually led to an agreement between the clubs.
The player was expected to join Maritimo initially but the deal broke down over transfer fee.
Meanwhile, the player later on Thursday resumed training with the team and he revealed via his twitter handle and expressed his excitement over the move.

CD Nacional returned to the top flight after spending one season in the Portuguese second division.
