Wednesday night’s action the English Premier League saw Nigerian players in the thick of the action as Alex Iwobi’s Arsenal managed to stay in contention for 4th and UEFA champions league position.

The match between Arsenal and reigning Premier League champions Leicester City was edged by the gunners 1-0 with an unfortunate deflection from defender Robert Huth.

Wilfred Ndidi lasted 90 minutes providing an all round display in the centre of Leicester City’s midfield.

Arsenal did not call upon Nigerian star Alex Iwobi who watched proceedings from the bench for the entire duration of the game.

Ahmed Musa continued his bench role for Leicester City as his services were not needed in the defeat to Arsenal.

Nigerian forward Victor Anichebe and his Sunderland team are all but relegated after losing 0-1 to Premier League survival hopefuls Middlesbrough.

Anichebe put up a spirited display but failed to produce a goal as Sunderland sunk deeper into relegation waters
