Leicester City Midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has received praises and encouragement from his boss Claude Puel.
Ndidi has been a constant name in ‘the foxes’ starting eleven since his £17m move from Belgian Club Genk last January. He’s made 40 appearances across all competitions for the 2015/2016 EPL champions.
He’s been unmovable in the midfield despite the incessant managerial changes happening recently at the King’s Power Stadium, and the acquisition of veteran midfielder Vicente Iborra from Sevilla. He is currently the league’s top tackler for the season with 59 successful tackles, averaging approximately 4 successful tackles a game.
In an interview with Leicester Mercury, Claude Puel praised the 20-year-old performances so far and believed he has the necessary potential to move his game to an even higher level.
“Wilfred [Ndidi] has made progress…He is a fantastic recoverer of the ball, winning the ball back, and gives us possession.
“He puts in some fantastic work on the pitch. I think also he improves with the ball and plays with quality.
“I think he can make further progress in this area. He has great potential for the future.”
He must improve the distribution part of him game and hopefully, Iborra, a vastly experienced passer with varieties of passes, can help him improve.
He will, all things being equal, play against Newcastle United at St James Park on Saturday.
