Super Eagles and Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi suffered a narrow defeat on aggregate on Tuesday as they were knocked out of the UEFA champions league by experienced Atletico Madrid.
Trailing 0-1 from the first leg, the reigning Premier League champions found it hard to penetrate their illustrious visitors in the first half as Athletico scored the killer away goal to end the first half in front.
The foxes then threw every thing in the second half at Atletico and deservedly got their equalizer. But that was as far as Atletico Madrid will allow their host as the Spanish side summoned all their experience to foil Leicester.
The match eventually ended 1-1 on the night and 2-1 on aggregate in favour of Atletico Madrid.
Ahmed Musa was benched for the entire duration of the match.
In the other quarter-final match of the night, Real Madrid needed extra time to see off 10 men Bayern Munich 4-2 on the night and 6-3 on aggregate.
