The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Director of Media and Communication,
Ademola Olajire has divulged to Naijafootballplus.com that the Federation is not aware of the proposed Togo friendly with the Super Eagles in France next month.
The Togolese Football Federation announced via their official Twitter handle on Thursday that their national team will take on the Super Eagles of Nigeria in an international friendly game on June 1 in Paris.
Togo and Nigeria are preparing for the 2019 AFCON qualifiers against Comoros and South Africa respectively in June.
“Honestly, I am not aware of the friendly game between Nigeria and Togo,” Olajire told Naijafootballplus.com.
“Coach Gernot Rohr has revealed his program for the camping and preparation for the AFCON qualifier and I haven’t been communicated about the Togo friendly.
“We have revealed the program and if any latest development comes up, we
will communicate with the media,” Olajire added.
Naijafootballplus.com sources in Togo revealed that the Federation only
communicated the friendly game announcement via their Twitter handle.
“We also got to know about the friendly game via Twitter, we haven’t been
briefed officially in Togo. I don’t trust our Federation, they have committed many mistakes in the past and apologised, I hope this won’t be another error,” the source said.
