The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have redeemed their promises to the Super Eagles B team of sharing 30% of the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) prize money with the team, Naijafootballplus.com can report.

Host country Morocco defeated Nigeria 4-0 in the final of 2018 CHAN in Casablanca on 4 February. Super Eagles B for the first team in the championship finished with Silver after their third appearance in the tourney.

According to official figures Nigeria earned $400,000 as tournament runners up with the team, players and officials sharing 30% of the prize money.

“We have received the prize money from CAF and we have transferred 30% of the prize money to the team,” an NFF top official informed Naijafootballplus.com.

“We met with the players before the final game in Casablanca and motivated the team, we promised them 30% of the prize money and we have kept to our promises after receiving the money from CAF.

“Bonuses and allowances is no more an issue between the Federation and national teams. We always communicate with the team about the Federation payment structure and also add some incentives to motivate the teams, this should not be a point of conversation anymore.”
