NFF sends Rohr to spy on Cameroon in Russia


In order to get first hand information and proper assessment of Nigeria’s next opponents in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier, the Nigeria Football Federation has decided to send Super Eagles technical adviser Gernot Rohr to Russia.

Nigeria’s next opponent in the 2018 FIFA world cup qualifier, the Indomitable Lions​ of Cameroon are currently campaigning in the ongoing FIFA Confederation cup.

Super Eagles who surprisingly lost to Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the AFCON 2019 qualifier will confront the reigning Africa champions in August in a must win game.

The loss to South Africa caused​ panics which spurred the federation into taking quick action.

According to the NFF General secretary Mohammed Sanusi: “Rohr will be at the Confederations Cup as part of the team’s preparations for the matches against Cameroon.

“We are not leaving any chances as far as that match is concerned. We are ready to put in every effort as we have done in the past to make sure that we consolidate on the group table by beating Cameroon”, Sanusi stated.

Cameroon lost its first game to Chile 0-2 on Sunday and will confront Australia in their second game on Thursday
