West African Football Union (WAFU) Executives have announced Nigeria as 2019 host nation of the next edition of the WAFU Cup of Nations, Naijafootballplus.com can report.
The West Africa Football Union body headed by Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi announced Nigeria as the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations host on Monday in Ghana.
Ghana have hosted the last two editions of the tournament in 2014 and 2017, winning the tournament on both occasions.
The Black Stars defeated Nigeria 4-1 at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday to emerge as 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations champions.
Nigeria hosted the 2010 and 2011 editions consecutively.
“Nigeria will host the next WAFU Cup of Nations in 2019, the body met and gave the hosting rights to Nigeria. With a sponsor secured by the body the tournament would remain consistent,” a Top WAFU official revealed to Naijafootballplus.com in Ghana.
