Nigeria National League: NNL kicks off March 31


The Nigeria National League, NNL new season kicks off on March 31.

The League board on Tuesday afternoon via its official twitter handle revealed the kick off date of the much awaited league season.

“Bet9ja NNL gets kick-off date for 2018 season. The @nnationalleague 2018 league season will commence on Saturday March 31, 2018” it stated via twitter.

The middle League was earlier scheduled to start on the 3rd of this month but had to be postponed following the increased number of teams competing from 36 to 40.

Chief Operating Officer of NNL, Mr.Lawrence Katken who disclosed this said registration date for the season has also been extended and will now end on Friday, the 23rd March, 2018.

According to Katken, clubs who fail to meet the registration requirements risk disqualification from participating in the League.

The forty clubs in the 2018 League have been abridged into four divisions of A1, A2, B1 and B2 with ten teams in each group.
The best two teams will qualifier from the divisions to make a Super 8 that will contest in a neutral ground for tickets into the Nigeria Professional Football League.

The league is now scheduled to kick off on March 31, 2018 with the board also extending the registration date for clubs to March 23.

The quartet of Kwara United, Heartland, Go Round FC and Katsina United secured promotion to the elite division last season while Shooting stars, Gombe United ABS FC and Remo Stars dropped to the second tier.
