Nigeria ranked 39th in latest FIFA rankings


The Super Eagles of Nigeria were ranked 39th in the latest FIFA rankings released on Wednesday July 5, 2017.

There were no major changes from the previous month of June in the positions of African teams on the table, with Egypt amongst the 25 best soccer playing nations according to the rankings.

Senegal are second in Africa and number 27 in the world, Nigeria’s next opponent for the World Cup qualifier Cameroon are fifth in Africa and 36th in the world, followed by Nigeria in 39th position and 6th in Africa.
Algeria another opponent In Nigeria’s World Cup qualifier group are ranked 8th in Africa and 48th in the world.

South Africa who defeated Nigeria in the AFCON qualifier last month are rated 13th in Africa and 65th in the world.
