Nigeria to raise new team after Beach Soccer World Cup


As the 2017 Beach Football World Cup commence in Nassau, Bahamas former Nigeria Local Organising Committe memeber for 2016 Africa Beach football, Salisu Nakande has confirmed that, the plan is in the pipeline to raised a new team, immediately after the competition in Bahamas.

Speaking in a telephone chat on Thursday morning, Nakande stated that they are also planning to specialise on picking the players who played mainly on sand and they are also planning to have leagues across the Six Geo-Political zones.

Nigeria who is participating in the Beach football World Cup for a record 6th time have a squad constituted mainly of Players plying their trade with clubs in the nation’s apex league, Nigeria Professional Football League.

Nakade expressed optimism about the chances of the team in Bahamas: ”I expect the team to do better than their last appearance despite having financial issues,” he said.
