Nigeria National League [NNL], the organizing body of the Bet9ja NNL Super 8 tournament has fined Bendel Insurance technical manager, Monday Odigie, a sum of N100,000 for improper dressing on the sidelines.
The former National U17 Golden Eaglets head coach was found to have breached relevant sections of the second tier league’s rule books during their match day one clash against Delta Force by dressing in an unsavoury manner for which he received verbal caution, from the match Commissioner, in their opening fixture which his team won 3-0
The Edo State born gaffer, who was Samson Siasia’s assistant in his engagements with the nation’s youth teams, threw caution to the wind as he dressed in the same manner in his second game (pictured above) against Remo Stars which forced the organizers to come down with the fine.
According to Bet9a NNL, Odigie failed to dress properly while on the dug out during the game, forcing the fourth official to call him to order and later drew the attention of the referee before the coach put on a white vest to cover his yellow sleeveless attire.
The NNL through their media officer, Amar Ignis, made public the development on Wednesday morning ahead of matchday three in the ongoing Bet9ja NNL Super 8 tournament to decide teams to be promoted.
Coach Monday Odigie had also shunned the post match conference, sending his chief coach, Baldwin Bazuaye, in his stead in their last game against Remo Stars.
Bendel Insurance are on course for picking one of the four promotion tickets with a 100% win record in the tournament, scoring four goals and are yet to concede. They will tackle Shooting Stars Sports Club today in their final group fixture and need just a draw to finish as group winners.
