Remo Stars Football Club of Ogun State has picked the final promotion ticket to the Nigeria Professional Football League [NPFL] after finishing as runners-up in the southern conference of the Bet9ja Nigeria National League [NNL].

Former Enyimba left back, Idris Alooma returning to his former stomping ground, opened scoring in the 19th minute but the Delta Force captain, Osita Egbo, converted a penalty to ensure both teams go into the break all square.

Remo Stars captain, Victor Mbaoma, put his team ahead in the second half and they held on to record a 2-1 victory, their second victory in their tournament.

The result means Shooting Stars Sports Club failed to qualify after winning just once and loosing twice as Remo Stars finished with six points with a defeat against Bendel Insurance in their second group game.

In another development, Delta Force coach, Chukwuma Agbo, tendered his resignation as a result of his team’s failure to pick a point from their three games.

“I am responsible for our success just as I am responsible for our failure. I appreciate the management of Delta Force for their faith in me but I have to go for another challenge,” he said after the game.
