Head coach of Nigeria National League team (NNL) Real Stars FC, Garba Lawal, says his team is not desperate to earn promotion into the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) .

According to him, ” I believe football is not a do or die affair. Some teams want to go into the NPFL desperately but we are not like that”.

Lawal stated that his team is still young and maybe underestimated by other teams but they made it this far with determination.

” We formed the team on February 6th and had the first training. With the screening and everything we tried to have a team within three months. Large percentage of the boys are from the grassroot, they are from the local teams and some we picked them from the street while they were playing football. We believed in them, they brought us to where we are today. Nobody gave us the chance that we can finish  second in our group”.

The Ex Super Eagles Midfielder says he is confident that his team will be able to make the top two in the NNL Super eight playoffs.

“For sure people will underrate my team but we believe in this boys, we believe they can deliver. It is left for them to go in there and showcase their talent”.

Real Stars FC will kick-start their NNL Super 8 playoff today ( Sunday) against Kada City FC by 4pm at the Enyimba Intl Stadium
