Super Eagles home based Team and MFM FC of Lagos have progressed to the final of the NPFL Invitational Tournament 2017.
Matchday three matches confirmed the two teams that will play in this year’s final of the NPFL preseason tournament.
The first match on Friday witnessed the CHAN Super Eagles defeat Enyimba International 1-0 at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

Sunday Faleye who made his debut, scored the winner and the only goal of the encounter in the 56th minute. The 3SC forward’s second half goal was enough to help the home-based Super Eagles finish top of Group A with four points and proceed to the final.
The second match produced an entertaining battle between Kano Pillars and MFM FC.
MFM FC forward Adekunle Adegboyega opened scores three minutes into the game, while Alassan Ibrahim levelled scores in the 15th minute.
MFM sat back in the second half and gave Kano Pillars space to dominate the game while they set up defensively. The Olukoya Boys’ tactical plans caged Kano Pillars and the game ended 1-1.
Interestingly, all three teams in Group B including Akwa United finished with two points but MFM FC finished top of the group with a better goals difference.
The grand finale will hold on Sunday at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano between the CHAN Super Eagles and MFM FC.
