NPFL Invitational: Matchday two matches ends in stalemate


2017 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) preseason invitational tournament matchday two matches all ended in draws in Group A and B respectively on Wednesday at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.

The first match of the day in Group B between Kano Pillars and Akwa United ended in a 0-0 stalemate. Akwa United finished their group stage matches with two points from two matches, while Kano Pillars earned one point in their first game.

The second game between the CHAN Super Eagles and Nigeria league champions Plateau United recorded another drawn encounter. It was their final game of the group stage and thus, they finished with two points.

Plateau United are top of Group A with two points, while Enyimba International and CHAN Super Eagles have garnered one point apiece.

In Group B, Akwa United are top of the group with two points while MFM FC and Kano Pillars have gained one point.

Matchday three matches will hold on Friday. CHAN Super Eagles will battle Enyimba for a place in the final in Group A at 3pm, Kano Pillars and MFM FC will fight it out for the final place ticket in Group B at 5pm.

The NPFL invitational preseason tournament is organised by the League Management Company organisers of the Nigerian league.
