As football clubs in Nigeria get ready to resume hostilities in the second stanza of the Nigeria Professional Football League, the League Management Company (LMC) has moved the dates of resumption from May 7, to May 21 due to known causes.
According to the chief operating officer of the LMC, Salisu Abubakar the date for the resumption of the league was to ensure all clubs play their outstanding matches.
“We didn’t think it would be appropriate for the clubs to carry over their first stanza fixtures into the second round,” said Abubakar.
“We also have deemed it right to accommodate the State Federation Cup finals which obviously will feature some of the NPFL Clubs,” Abubakar added.
Rivers United will on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 host Remo Stars while Rangers play in Enugu against Plateau United in one of their rescheduled games.
