Nwakali nets third goal in two games


Former Flying Eagles skipper Kelechi Nwakali is surely attracting attention in the Dutch second tier league with a good form of late for MVV Maastricht.

The elegant midfielder who is on loan from English premier league side Arsenal netted a brace last weekend away from home.

He was also in good form on Friday when Maastricht defeated Eindhoven 2-0 at home.

Alessandro Cirrani got the first goal on the stroke of half time to give MVV a well deserved lead going into the break.

The second half resumed with the home team still dominating the game and on the dot of the 90th minute Kelechi Nwakali made the points safe with a well taken goal.

The victory took Maastricht to 9th position on the table with 43 points in 31 games.

This is the second spell at MVV for Kelechi Nwakali midfielder, having played at the club last season before returning to parent club Arsenal who then loaned him to VV Venlo in the first half of the season.
