Abia Angels coach, Ann Chiejine, has described her team’s 4-0 defeat in Lagos to FC Robo Queens on Wednesday evening as ‘an eye opener’.
Speaking to the club’s media after the game, the former Super Falcons goalkeeper expressed her disappointment in the result and promised to work hard towards the next game.
“It’s an eye opener, I think my girls underrated them so much. Winning at home doesn’t mean we were going to win away. Nevertheless, it’s a wake up call.” She said
“We’ll go back and do some work and see how we can come out better in subsequent games. We’ll deal with it.
“We got everything wrong but we’ll definitely come back stronger.” She concluded.
Abia Angels who are eyeing a Super 4 position lost ground on the leaders as both Sunshine Queens and Defending champions, Nasarawa Amazons recorded away draws to widen their gap.
Abia Angels will host Adamawa Queens in Umuahia in their next NWFL fixture as they try to turn their season on it’s head.
