Sunshine Queens FC of Akure will on Wednesday host newly promoted Jokodolu FC of Ogbomoso at the Ondo state sports complex Akure, in a week two fixture of the Nigeria Women Football League.

Jokodolu FC gained promotion to the elite league following a successful spell in the lower division last season, which also marked their first taste of Women’s Professional Football.

Ahead of the tie, head coach of the Akure based team, Wemimo Matthew has tagged the match a”must win” and charged her girls to go all out for the three points against the coach Mohammed Hameed tutored side who are on a rapid ascendancy.

“Jokodolu babes are new in the league but that doesn’t make them pushovers, my players are aware of the task ahead and will definitely deliver,” said Wemimo Matthew.

Jokodolu FC were forced to a goalless draw at home last week at the Soun stadium in Ogbomoso by visiting Adamawa Queens and are poised to pick a decent point in Akure tomorrow against the Betty Babes.

The home team meanwhile are likely to be rejigged despite a convincing 4-1 home win recorded against Abia Angels in their first match.

A win for Sunshine Queens will place the team comfortably on the number one position on the league table ahead of their next match away from home against Pelican Stars of Calabar.
