After the conclusion of the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League season, the duo of goalkeeper Femi Thomas and midfielder Nzube Anaezemba has returned back to their parent club Enyimba International.

Both players spent the 2016/2017 league season at Rivers United on-loan from Enyimba International.

Nzube secured more playing time than goalkeeper Femi Thomas who had to contend with ageless goalkeeper Rotimi Sunday and Abiodun Akande for a first team shirt.

Both players endured an underwhelming season with the Pride of Rivers who only secured their stay in the top flight on the penultimate round of league matches despite campaigning in CAF club competitions.

They will have the opportunity to relaunch their careers at the 7-time league champions who will also play in the CAF Confederation Cup thanks to their 3rd place finish in the league.
