Super Eagles striker, Obafemi Martins is back in training after a horrific knee injury he suffered back in April 2018 while playing for his Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.
The Super Eagles striker now 33-year-old, sustained a damaged knee injury in an Asian Champions League game match against South Korean club side Kashima Antlers on Wednesday, April 4, and was expected to be out for seven months.
But the player who had a successful surgery in London took to social media to announce his return to training earlier than expected.
“My rehabilitation is going very well. I work at the gym every day. I can’t wait to resume with my teammates.” Obafemi said.
Super Eagles German coach, Gernot Rohr was believed to have pencilled down Obafemi Martins as a member of of his squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia going by his impressive goal scoring form during the season for Shanghai Shenhua before the nasty injury ruled him out of contention.
Martins is targeting to make an early comeback from his stipulated injury layoff time.
