Former MFM FC of Lagos striker Stephen Odey, on Sunday scored his first league goal for his Switzerland Super league side FC Zurich.
The skillful forward who joined the Swiss side this summer, netted in Zurich’s 1-2 home defeat to FC Luzern.
The away team opened the scoring in the 11th minute through Christian Schneuwly, before Odey drew level in the 24th minute.
The away team went up again in the 34th minute through Stefan Knezevic, but all the efforts made by Odey and his teammates met a brick wall until the game ended in a 1-2 loss for them.
The player had this to say after the game on his twitter handle; “After putting so much of hardwork, I feel great about my first competitive goal with the main team of FC Zurich, it’s long over due though but I am not happy with the result because it was not what I and the team wanted”.
Odey has netted twice for the reserve side before now, but scoring for the first team will surely boost the morale of youngster who netted 18 NPFL goals last season before he left in the summer.
