Ogu’s drivers licence seized for alleged drink-driving incident


Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu was arrested by police in Israel allegedly for drink-driving on Tuesday.

Ogu who plays his club football for Hapoel Be’er Sheva in Israel, had his driver’s licence suspended for 30 days.

The towering midfielder was stopped by police for a routine check on Tuesday and failed a routine alcohol test before getting arrested for DUI (driving under influence ) according to Isreali media publication ONE.

Ogu is expected to face further sanctions from his club for his indiscretions.

The midfielder joined Hapoel in 2015 and has helped the club win two successive league titles amongst other trophies.
