Enyimba International midfielder Dare Ojo has said his side will go for win against hosts, Energie FC in the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup second round clash at the Stade Matheu Kerekou on Wednesday.

Enyimba had their official training session on Tuesday evening at the Stade Matheu Kerekou with all twenty (20) players named for the encounter available for selection, there are no injury worries for head coach Paul Aigbogun.
Energie FC knocked out Haifa FC of Guinea in the preliminary round, they won the first leg 1-0 in Cotonou and held the Guinean side to a 1-1 drawn encounter in the second leg.
“We have been working hard all through the week and the concentration is on the game, we are focused and determined. They have a bit of an edge because we didn’t play in the first round, they have been tested while this is our first game,” Ojo said to Naijafootballplus.com in Cotonou.
“We have to respect them, they finished second in the Benin Republic league, and the result against Haifa was also something great for the team. We are ready for the battle, it’s important that we kick start our continental campaign with result that would acceptable by the fans.
“Enyimba is a big club on the continent and we are favourites, we won’t allow our past achievements make us over confident. We have to put everything into the game and fight for a win.”
In 2015, Kadiri Ikhana led Enyimba to a 1-0 win over Buffaloes FC at the Matheu Kerekou in the CAF Champions League, Sikiru Kamal scored the winner for the People’s Elephant in the game.
Enyimba goalkeeper Fatai Dauda says the seven-time NPFL champions are not under pressure to repeat such feat on Wednesday against Energie FC.
“We had a successful official training and we are looking forward to the game, everything has been smooth for us and we are hoping for a positive result. We have enough information about them and the technical crew has shared a lot of information with us, they are young and quick. We have to run all through the game and keep the shape of the team solid.
“Enyimba is one of the ambitious club side’s in Africa, if you are playing here you have to build a big heart of winning always. The management has told us about their history against Benin Republic teams, we have to keep the records and stay top of the game. We are confident and optimistic, it won’t be easy but we are hopeful of winning,” Dauda told Naijafootballplus.com.
The game will kickoff at 4pm Nigeria time.
