Enyimba International midfielder Dare Ojo says the People’s Elephant will be competition ready for the NPFL Super Six pre-season tournament next month.
The League Management Company (LMC) have invited six teams to compete in the 2017 NPFL Super Six invitational tournament in Kano State. The invited teams for the pre-season tournament are Nigeria’s continental flag bearers; Plateau United, MFM FC, Enyimba and Akwa United. Host city club side Kano Pillars and Super Eagles B team.
Enyimba are currently camped in Ekiti State under the watchful eyes of newly appointed coach Paul Aigbogun.
“The camping is going on fine in Ekiti, we have a new coach and transition to adopt his tactical style of play and philosophy is what we have been working on for days,” said Ojo to Naijafootballplus.com from his base in Ekiti.
The NPFL Super Six preseason tournament will kick off from December 11th at the Sani Abbacha Stadium, Kano State.
Ojo added: “The process of tactical transition have been easy for the team because coach Paul has been here before and he understood the working environment. Some of the players including me have worked with him before, the bonding process is on the fast track.
“We are looking forward to the preseason tournament in Kano, although we have played some test matches in Ekiti but I think the standard of the preseason in Kano will test our readiness for the new season.
“We will be ready for the preseason tournament and compete gainfully in the tournament. We are gradually stepping up the momentum in camp and the new players have also settle down. We have got a huge season ahead of us with the continental football and it’s important we give our best.
“Enyimba is a big team with ambition to surpass the previous season, the last time on the continent we got to the group stages and we must better that performance. The Super Six will give us opportunity to test the coach philosophy and how we can translate that into the new season.”
