Oliseh masterminds Fortuna Sittard’s first away win of season in emphatic fashion


Former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh continued his impressive run in the Dutch Eerste divisie as he led his club Fortuna Sittard to their first away win of the season on Friday night.

Fortuna Sittard who are enjoying fantastic form under the Nigerian at present thrashed Telstar 0-6 away from home.

After a goalless first half, Per Schurrs opened the floodgates of goals in the 60th minute before an Andre Vidigal hat-trick put the visitors in a comfortable lead. Weasel Dammer and Fin Stokkers added gloss to the scoreline.

The victory made sure Sittard maintain second position on the table with 16 points from seven matches, one adrift of Ajax II in first.

This won’t be the first time Oliseh has overseen such a decimation of a club in the Dutch second division as he has previously led his high flying Sittard side to 5-1 wins over Jong AZ Alkmaar on matchday six and FC Dordrecht by the same scoreline on the opening day of the season.
