Former Nigerian coach and captain, Sunday Oliseh steered Fortuna Sittard to victory as they recovered from last week’s 1:2 defeat at home to NEC in the Dutch Erste divisie ( second division ) to beat their host MVV Maastricht 2-1 Friday night.
Jonathan Okita’s 11th minute opener for the home side MVV Fc was met by a quick response from Sunday Oliseh’s tutored side, as Lisandro Semedo equalized two minutes later, to finish the first half 1-1.
What ever coach Sunday Oliseh told his boys seemed to work as they ceased
the initiative to go ahead in the 49th minute when André Vidigal scored the second for Fortuna Sittard and eventual match winner.
Lisandro Semedo was then sent off in the 90th minute as Sittard saw the game off with 10 men.
The victory means Oliseh and his boys close the gap on leaders Ajax II to just a point having notched 19 points from 9 games with the table toppers yet to play their game of the round.
Up next for Oliseh and his team will be a visit to Eindhoven next week Friday.
