
Super Eagles central defender Kenneth Omeruo was skipper of an understrength Chelsea team that 1-1 against Crawley Town in a pre-season friendly.
Chelsea opened scoring on 75 minutes through Charlie Brown who had been on the pitch less than five minutes.
The Blues looked set for a win, but the League two opponents levelled close to the end with one of very few chances created in the second period.
Omeruo who returned to Stamford
Bridge after a loan spell with Turkish Super Lig side Alanyanspor last season was not the only Nigerian in the match. Teenager Ike Ugbo was also a part of the Chelsea squad who featured in the friendly.
23-year-old Omeruo is expected to be loaned out again or sold outrightly if a right offer comes.
