Omeruo denies talk of Wolves medical

Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo has denied reports linking him with a move to Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers.

There were reports on Sunday that the 23-year-old had agreed personal terms with Wolves and was poised to undergo medicals on Monday.

Omeruo captained an understrength Chelsea side to draw 1-1 with Crawley Town on Saturday.

In response to a tweet by a Twitter user who cited a post claiming the defender was on the verge of signing for Wolves, he replied on Twitter:

“Is it my own Kenneth Omeruo? Or someone else?

The defender who spent last season on loan at Turkish club, Alanyaspor hopes to feature in Chelsea’s first team. But he doesn’t fancy a bench role with the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup in mind.

He has previously played for Ado Den Haag, Middlesbrough and Kasimpasa all on loan from Chelsea.
