Paul Onuachu scored the only goal for Midtjlland in a hard fought 1-0 win over Sonderjyske away from home on Friday night.
With scores tied at 0-0 in the first half at the Sydbank Park stadium, and second half looking like following suit, Onuachu popped up in the 73rd minute to score the match winner as he has done on several occasions to earn his team maximum three points.
The big question now remains if the tall physical striker has done enough to earn a look in by the Nigerian national team coach Gernot Rohr, with his consistent goal scoring form.
Onuachu still 23 years old has now scored 6 goals despite several games out of the 12 matches played so far in the Danish superliga this season.
Onauchu’s goal takes Midtjland to joint top on the table on 23 points, same as leaders Nordsjælland Fc with both sides tied on +10 goals difference but Nordsjaelland having played a game less.
His Nigerian teammate Rilwan Hassan started the game but was subbed off
with just 21 minutes played having sustained an injury.
The hero of the night Pual Onuachu was pulled out with a minute left of regulation time, to a standing ovation from the traveling fans.
