Eupen forward Henry Onyekuru has continued to draw attention of EPL clubs with his outstanding performances for the Belgian club as Southampton has pressed in with transfer negotiations.
Onyekuru, 19, has scored 18 goals in all competitions for the Belgian side currently taking part in the playoffs to determine champions of the Belgian league.
Onyekuru has been monitored by Liverpool, but it was thought that West Brom has moved ahead of their EPL rivals until Southampton actually had a sit down with Eupen officials and representatives of the Nigerian player.
A transfer fee of £7 million has been proposed for his signature, but further discussions have been put on hold on the request of Onyekuru who wants to focus on the playoffs to avoid distractions.
It is believed that Manager of Southampton, Claude Puel wants the deal done early enough to have the Nigerian available for the preseason preparations.
