Onyekuru nominated for Ebony shoe award

Nigeria born Henry Onyekuru who plays for Eupen FC in the Belgian league has been nominated for the Ebony shoe award.

Onyekuru has scored 17 goals in 33 matches across all competitions for Eupen, and if he wins it he will join the likes of Celestine Babayaro, Victora, Daniel Amokachi and Godwin Okpara as other Nigerians to have won the award.

The Nigerian forward was listed amongst other players like; Landry Dimata (Congo, KV Oostende), Sofiane Hanni (Algeria, Anderlecht), Mbaye Leye (Senegal, Zulte Waregem) and Belgium international Youri Tielemans (Anderlecht)

The annual award is a reward for the best African player in the Belgian first Division.

The 26th edition of the Ebony shoe award will be presented to the winner on the 8 of May in a gala night.

Sofiane Hanni (Algeria, Anderlect ) is the current holder of the award while playing for Mechelen last season.
