Oshoala named Lagos State sports Ambassador


Following the outstanding performance of 2017, Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala has been appointed as Lagos state Sports Ambassador by Governor of the state Akinwunmi Ambode.

Oshoala has enjoyed a fantastic 2017 which saw her clinch the highest goal scorer award in the Chinese Women league while playing for Dalian Quanjian where she notched up 12 goals.

Her impressive showing for the Chinese club saw her emerge as the CAF women’s player of the year in Accra Ghana for the third time.

The player was excited with the role bestowed on her by the state’s first citizen.

She expressed her gratitude on her social media handle on Friday morning.

She tweeted: “Meet the newly appointed Lagos State Sports Ambassador (Asisat Oshoala). God bless Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, God bless Lagos State. Itesi Iwaju Ipinle Eko Lo Jewa Logun…..AMBO LE’KAN SI. AkinwunmiAmbode #ProudLagosian.”

Oshoala is expected to lead Super Falcons attack when they face France in the upcoming international friendly
