Osun United left fullback, Aleem Adebayo has urged his team mates to put behind their Aiteo Cup quarter final loss to Sunshine Stars and focus ahead on finishing the National league on a high.
He disclosed this to naijafootballplus.com this morning after their training session. He said though the loss is painful, they will need to concentrate on their wednesday Nigeria National League match day 30 clash with First Bank of Lagos at the Oshogbo city stadium.
“We must put the loss to Sunshine Stars behind us. We shouldn’t let that defeat weigh us down. We need to concentrate on our subsequent games and we must finish the season on a very high note.
“We have also missed out on the promotion to the top division but it would be good to finish the season in the top four.
“Our game against First Bank of Lagos will not be easy simply because they aren’t comfortable on the log as they are battling relegation.
“We need to give out our best in this game and win convincingly to complement the effort our fans who have been very supportive from the start of the season.
I understand and feel their pains about how we were ousted from the Aiteo Cup, but that is the game of football as you can’t win every time.
I would also use this medium to appeal to them to let us always embrace the spirit of sportsmanship as better days lies ahead of us”, the former Remo Stars and Crown FC defender submitted.
Osun United who are currently sitting seventh on the log of NNL southern conference with 47 points will play host to First Bank of Lagos who are 16th on the log with 32 points on wednesday in one of the Nigeria National League week 30 fixtures.
