Sunshine Queens forward Tina Oyathelemhi has expressed delight at scoring her first goal after returning to the Akure based club in mid-season.

It was her 40th minute strike against Ibom Angels on Wednesday in Uyo that made sure Coach Wemimo Matthew’s charges celebrated their first point on the road.

“I thank God for the goal, the former Confluence Queens forward told NWFLMedia. “It was my second game since my return to the team from Confluence Queens and it was important to score. We really played well throughout the entire match duration.”

The goal is Oyathelemhi’s second in the current campaign, she had scored one in the first stanza when she defended the colours of Confluence Queens.

Oyathelemhi was one of five players that were recruited by Sunshine Queens in mid-season after the club axed ten players from their squad. She was the highest goal scorer in the Women’s Federation Cup two years ago when the Owena Mermaids were crowned Champions.
